Like many events this year, Grandparents & Special Guest Day had record-breaking attendance numbers on Friday, October 28. 612 Grandparents and special guests registered in advance for this annual tradition at Legacy Christian Academy, and what a day it was!
Guests arrived to watch the “Words of Wisdom” program held in the Meadow Creek Worship Center where students first sat next to their grandparents and friends and then performed a song or two under the direction of Tirzah Gerber, the K-6 Music Director or Cindy Johnson, the PreK Music Director. A few of the highlights were 2nd grade’s performance of “All Ears”, a rendition of “You Are My Sunshine” performed by PreK, and the congregational song “Be Thou My Vision”.
In keeping with the theme, PreK-4 Principal Joel Nydam talked about words and how they have changed over time. Children and grandparents laughed when Mr. Nydam asked what came to mind when he said the word “Cloud” or “Text”. Oh, how the times have changed!
Students took their special guests to their classrooms, to the Book Fair, and even stopped by the Cafe for a treat (or two!). There were many smiles and hugs from both young and old alike.
