And that’s a wrap on Mane Event for 2022!
This year’s favorite event of the year had a lot of ‘new’ for our community. To start, the Mane Event was the final day of ROAR Days, a week filled with fall kick-off festivities and a celebration of late season sports from Spring of 2022. Students participated in a pep rally, dress-up days, their first Big Buddy Day, several Home athletic competitions, and two extra events: a Middle School Fun Lab field trip and a High School Nerf Battle.
And the week topped off with the Mane Event!
Both the Cub Run and Lion Run featured a new obstacle: the final 100 meter dash through a slip-n-slide! Students and parents slipped through the new obstacle with gusto and smiles. For the Lion Run, it was an additional excellent way to wash off the mud from the mud crawl and the new mud pit featured after the water walk element. And this mud pile was DEEP! These major obstacles were all built and supported by Kinghorn Construction. They know how to make a run TOUGH!
Another new element of the Mane Event was a fantastic turnout of Business Partner Sponsorship booths. This year, six local businesses partnered with Legacy to host a booth at the event. KTIS, University of Northwestern, Tiffany and Rod Larson Keller Williams, Metro Therapy, Crown College, and, of course, Pizza Ranch were center on the field and drew all sorts of attention with prizes, giveaways, and spin wheels!
Thanks to our Power Sponsors, Village Bank, Metro Therapy, RBC Wealth Management, and Pizza Ranch, the Mane Event had a huge turnout! Over 800 people showed up to run (and slide) through the course and cheer on those tackling each obstacle. Pizza Ranch also generously donated 125 pizzas (12 slices each) to feed the community after working hard.
It was a day to celebrate, spend time with friends and family, and start our Lion year off STRONG!
