The Legacy softball program will begin their third year as a Legacy team in the spring of 2025. The team saw a lot of growth last year in their first season of varsity competition and looks to continue that improvement under the leadership of our new Head Softball Coach, Kaiya Boldt.
Coach Kaiya has a wealth of softball knowledge under her four years of Division 1 softball experience at St. Louis University and The University of Tulsa. Not only did Coach Boldt display her athletic abilities, but her academic and leadership abilities as well. Kaiya Boldt competed in a rigorous D1 schedule while maintaining a 4.0 GPA, serving as a Project Billiken Member, Athlete Advisory Committee, BCM Worship Leadership Team, TU Psychology Club, FCA Community and Outreach and Psi Chi International Honor Society.
“Kaiya immediately impressed our interview committee with her heart for the Lord and mentoring young women to know and love Christ. She has a wealth of experience, not only in softball, but in ministry; specifically, women’s ministry. Coach Boldt has a vibrant personality while also being deeply competitive and committed to growth,” says Athletic Director, Nathan Bellefeuille. Kaiya’s experience with Salt Ministries is going to bring a rich discipleship experience for our softball athletes. “Coach Kaiya understands what it is like to be a committed student athlete while focusing on the most important aspect of all that we do, growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ. We are very excited to have a coach who our female athletes can look up to and learn from on and off the field.”
Coach Boldt’s former coach, Coach Sandra Owens, says, “Kaiya’s commitment to her faith, academics, family and community stands out among most. On top of being an honor roll student, she set a great example for every one of her teammates, showing them what it looks like to follow God in every aspect of her life. I witnessed Kaiya have grace with her teammates, have faith that God would guide her in the trialing moments, but most importantly, she never wavered in who she was and what she believed in. Her patience and understanding with everyone around her truly prepared her for what she wants to do in her career. Kaiya will make a wonderful high school coach.”
Kaiya is a graduate from The University of Tulsa where she was an honors student in the Psychology program while also participating in the softball program. “I am honored to be joining the Legacy community and to have the opportunity to pour into these athletes. I am so excited to lead Legacy softball into its next chapter and to see what God has in store for this season!”
Kaiya Boldt is a Ministry Coordinator for Salt Ministries in St. Paul where she coordinates event logistics and disciples female leaders, leading to spiritual growth and biblical obedience. She is married to Legacy’s Strength & Conditioning Coach, Alec Boldt.
